1. Who We Are

Resuminn ("we", "our", or "us") operates an online resume building platform at resuminn.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Data you provide directly:

• Account data: your name and email address when you create an account
• Resume content: work experience, education, skills, certifications, languages, and any other information you enter into your resume
• Uploaded files: PDF and Word documents you upload for AI parsing
• Bug reports: email address, description, and any attachments you include when reporting issues
• Communications: any messages you send to our support team

Data collected automatically:

• Device and browser information: browser type, device type, operating system
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, interactions with the service
• IP address

Data we do NOT collect:

• We do not store your credit card or payment card details. All payment processing is handled by LemonSqueezy.

3. Why We Process Your Data (Legal Basis)

Under EU data protection law, we need a legal basis to process your personal data. Here are the bases we rely on:

• Contract performance: We process your account data and resume content to provide you with the resume building service you signed up for.
• Consent: We send you marketing emails and use non-essential cookies (Google Analytics) only with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interest: We process some data for security purposes, fraud prevention, and to improve our service.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

• Provide and operate the resume building service
• Store and display your resumes
• Process your resume content with AI for ATS scoring, analysis, and optimization (see Section 5)
• Process payments through LemonSqueezy
• Send you transactional emails related to your account and payments (via LemonSqueezy)
• Send you marketing emails about product updates, tips, and promotions (via Resend), only if you opt in during signup or enable it in your settings. You can opt out at any time.
• Analyze how the service is used through Google Analytics (if you consent to analytics cookies)
• Detect and prevent security threats and abuse
• Respond to your support requests and bug reports

5. AI Processing

When you use our AI-powered features (ATS scoring, resume analysis, resume optimization, or AI resume upload), your resume content and any job descriptions you provide are sent to OpenAI for processing. This is necessary to provide these features.

OpenAI processes this data under their own terms and data processing policies. We send only the data necessary for the specific AI feature you are using.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate Resuminn. Each receives only the data necessary for its function:

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share your data with any parties other than those listed above, unless required by law.

7. International Data Transfers

Your database (account data, resume content) is stored on servers in the European Union (Cloud Firestore). However, some of your data is transferred to servers in the United States through the following services:

• Firebase Cloud Storage (uploaded and exported resume files)
• OpenAI (resume content, when you use AI features)
• LemonSqueezy (payment data)
• Resend (email marketing data, if you opt in)
• Google Analytics (usage data, if you consent)
• Google Fonts (IP address, during PDF export)

These transfers are governed by each provider's own terms of service and data protection policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies if you want to understand how they handle your data.

8. Data Retention

• Active accounts: We keep your data for as long as your account is active.
• Account deletion: You can delete your account from your Settings page. After requesting deletion, there is a 24-hour grace period during which you can cancel the request. After 24 hours, all your personal data, resumes, and files are permanently deleted. Any active subscriptions are automatically cancelled.
• Audit logs: For legal compliance and fraud prevention purposes, we retain anonymized deletion records. Your email address is kept in plaintext in deletion audit logs for 90 days to allow us to respond to legal or regulatory requests. After 90 days, the email address is replaced with a cryptographic hash that cannot be reversed. The audit log itself (containing only the hashed email, user ID, and deletion timestamp) is retained indefinitely for compliance purposes.
• Bug reports: If you submitted bug reports, your identity is removed from those records upon account deletion. The report content is kept for service improvement purposes but is no longer linked to your account.

9. Your Rights

Under EU data protection law (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: You can ask us to delete your personal data.
• Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format.
• Right to object: You can object to us processing your data for certain purposes.
• Right to withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link. For analytics cookies, adjust your cookie preferences.
• Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we are not handling your data correctly.

11. Children

Resuminn is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this service. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 16, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the website.
